"Among Giants" is a moving and whimsical romance that takes place one hundred feet in the air as a group of high-wire electrical tower painters cope with a fearless woman in their midst. "Among Giants" stars Pete Postlethwaite ("In The Name of the Father," "William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet") in his first romantic role, battling for the love of a mountain-climbing drifter, played by Rachel Griffiths (OscarÆ nominee for "Hilary and Jackie," "Muriel's Wedding"). Between them is Steven, a brash and discontented working class Don Juan, played by James Thornton.

From the writer of "The Full Monty" comes another adventure about England's working class -- this time, it's a rag-tag bunch of mates always on the hunt for the next adrenaline rush, on the job or off. Ray (Postlethwaite) is a lonely, middle-aged foreman who spends his off-hours with his best mate Steven (Thornton), climbing the famous cliffs of Sheffield. Ray's crew of handymen specialize in taking small, high-pay, high-risk jobs that give them the freedom to climb in the months between.

When Ray is covertly hired to paint miles of massive electrical pylons along the Yorkshire Moors, he faces a daunting task. Though no stranger to danger, this particular assignment is a race against the clock, as Ray and his crew must finish before the deadly voltage in the towers comes back on line.

That's why no one can quite believe it when Ray hires Gerry (Griffiths), an aloof Australian climber who shows up in town with nothing more than a backpack. It's practically unheard of to have a woman on an illegal job. But there's something irresistible about Gerry, who has an electrifying effect on the painting crew, and a significant one on Ray. But as their fervent romance unfolds in this strange vertical world, everyone becomes a bit dizzy, endangering the project, their friendships, their lives and the only thing in Ray's world that truly scares him - his heart.

"Among Giants" explores the human desire to reach for the heights and the dangers of falling in love.

Critically acclaimed actors Pete Postlethwaite and Rachel Griffiths star. In his first major film role is James Thornton as Steve, Ray's best friend and competitor for Gerry's heart.
